One Month Check Up
Oh how the time flies. The six-month treatment protocol was a roller coaster for us as doggy parents, though Honey handled it so splendidly. Now, we’re a month out from that treatment and she’s in for her check-up. She’s looking great. She’s feeling great. And boy is she excited to be back at the vet amongst her friends. It’s so hard to put into words how grateful we are for each moment, each day. And seven months after an earth-rocking diagnosis, we’re optimistic that we’ve been given more time with our baby. There are even moments when we forget about the cancer, forget about the timeline. Time is a treasure and tomorrow is not certain. We must make the most of now. Snuggle your babies. I’m off to snuggle mine....

It’s the truest joy in the world to have to repeat the same report week to week. She’s on track, solid on her blood work and the belle of the ball each Monday at the vet’s office. We are beyond thrilled by this week to week. Each day, each hour is a gift. This week, we were gifted two little words that mean the world: In remission. Wow. So grateful. Remission means that the cancer is no longer growing, but we’ll continue the treatments to ensure it is under control. Honey was back in action for her next dose of Vincristine. Her blood work looked great and she’s her spunky, sassy self. (Don’t believe me? Check the doctor’s notes here in the discharge: Honey Discharge) We are beyond thankful that she’s taking the treatments so well and only affected with a little lethargy on the first two days after her treatment. I still watch her like a hawk, looking for regular eating, peeing and pooing patterns. Honey is a great sport about it all, too.
